Biography
As a Policy Analyst for the Chemicals Policy and Science Initiative, Jessica works on a variety of projects related to state and federal chemicals policy and manages the Lowell Center’s State Chemicals Policy Database.
Prior to the Lowell Center, Jessica was involved in a number of research projects investigating the links between the environment and breast cancer. She developed a CD-ROM about environmental risks and breast cancer at Vassar College and a publicly accessible mammary carcinogen database at the Silent Spring Institute.
Jessica has also worked with the Maine State Department of Environmental Protection to implement the state's first-in-the-nation Safer Chemicals law and with the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) and the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety (IFCS) on international chemicals issues.
Jessica Schifano is a 2009 graduate of the JD/MPH dual degree program at Northeastern University School of Law and Tufts University School of Medicine.
