Biography
With broad experience in public health research and practice, Molly Jacobs is a Project Manager within the Lowell Center’s Environmental Health Program focusing on environmental and occupational epidemiology. She has worked on multiple analytic and descriptive epidemiologic studies investigating various health outcomes including cancer, lupus and scleroderma in association with exposure to local environmental contamination. More recently she worked on a number of research-translation projects relating to environmental and occupational causes of asthma and cancer.
Jacobs currently manages the Lowell Center's Toward Tomorrow project that is facilitating the development a set of generational goals for environment and health. She is also managing the development of a research agenda for a state-wide grants program aimed at enhancing knowledge regarding environmental and occupational factors that contribute to breast cancer risk and developing innovative preventive interventions that mitigate such exposures. She also works closely with the Collaborative on Health and Environment's Cancer Working Group to enhance cancer prevention activities associated with environmental risks among mainstream cancer organizations and state and federal cancer programs. Molly received her BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health with a concentration in environmental health and epidemiology.
