Fellows Program

Monica Becker

Monica Becker has spent the last 20 years guiding companies through green transformation of their products and manufacturing processes and advising government agencies on policies to promote green product design and manufacturing.  Ms. Becker is currently working as a private consultant and is a Fellow of the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production.

Ms. Becker held several positions at the Rochester Institute Technology (RIT), most recently as the Business Manager for the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute, located within the Golisano Institute for Sustainability.  Prior to joining RIT, Ms. Becker held positions at the Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Tellus Institute. 

She began her career as an engineer for EKA Nobel, a chemical supplier to the paper industry.  Ms. Becker has a Bachelors Degree from the College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York in Paper Science Engineering with a minor in Environmental Law. She holds masters degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Technology & Policy as well as Civil & Environmental Engineering.
