photoAmy Perlmutter has worked in the environmental field for close to 30 years, with the last twelve focused on the intersection of environmental protection and economic development. She has her own consulting practice with a focus on strategy, communications, and partnership building around clean technologies. Amy served as the first Director of Solid Waste for Passaic County, New Jersey, where she was responsible for solid waste planning and activities for 16 communities; the Recycling Program Manager for the City of San Francisco where, under her leadership, the recycling rate was increased by 70%; and the founding director of the Chelsea Center for Recycling and Economic Development, which worked with manufacturers, researchers, government, and communities to enhance the infrastructure for the use of secondary materials in Massachusetts.

Amy also served on Massachusetts Governor Patrick’s Transition Team on Energy and Environment, and is on the board of Giving Green, a new non-profit entity which facilitates online micro-lending to environmental projects throughout the world. She holds a master’s in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
